AD RESPONSE
The product being advertised is an application for mobile devices. This application is a game intended for younger people ranging from 5-18 years old and for all genders.
The main focus in this advertisement is the application on the right side. I tried to make it look like it was in a mobile device so that people would know that it is for mobile phones and tablets. I also made it bigger than the other elements except for the tree in the background, to let the viewer know that it is the main object in the advertisement. I also tried to add a glare in the middle on both sides of the device to create the illusion the light is coming from the upper-front side to put the focus on the device. I did not draw any button on the device because it is not the device being advertised, the application is. I put emphasis on the game to show what the game is like-it’s a match 3 game, the player is required to reach a certain score in order to move on to the next level. There is a time limit with unlimited number of moves.
The colours I used in the advertisement are mostly light and bright. These colours indicate happiness and also make the black text clearly visible. I used the blue and green shades because it makes me think about nature, and birds are a part of the nature.
The language I used is precise and straight to the point which does not distract the viewer from the visuals. The catch phrase should be effective for the target audience because it uses easy language and says that when someone actuals plays this game, they will never get bored again. Only 30% pay attention to the text so it should be enough for it.
The mood of the ad is exciting because it encourages the audience to play the game and have fun. If someone is really bored and does not have any activity to do at home, the ad will attract them to download the game and enjoy it.
The advertisement uses the facts and figures strategy by stating that the game is Canada’s number one application. Without having to say much, it directly makes the application the best one available. Who would not want to download the best app out there? Not a lot of people. Even if the application itself is not really good, people would still want to download it considering its popularity. This ad appeals to logos and appeals to the audience the same way as stated above.
