Birds Should Not Be Locked In Cages
Can you imagine being locked
inside a small room for your entire life?
That’s how birds feel when they are
locked inside their cages 24/7. It’s
extremely cruel and they don’t deserve
this kind of treatment! Its common
sense it will affect their mental health
because they will feel lonely and
stressed.
I’m not saying that they shouldn’t
be kept in cages at all. In fact they feel safe there because it’s supposed to be their “home”. All I’m saying is that they should be allowed to come out whenever they want to by having the door open during the day. For people who keep their birds inside a cage at all time because according to them they are messy, untameable or because of whatever reason they can’t stand the bird having a little space and freedom, why do you even feel the need to get a bird in the first place?
I literally don’t understand people who only keep birds for their beauty and not for companionship. Usually those are the people who keep them behind bars. If they don’t want to have a pet-owner relationship with them, they should rather buy an ACTUAL DECORATION PIECE for their house and not make the bird suffer! That’s even worse than what happens to zoo animals
because at least zoo animals have more space if you compare their body-to-cage-ratio to a pet bird's.
It’s true that birds do not require as much work as dogs and cats do. You don’t have to walk them or give them a wash while they constantly try to dodge you and run away, and make your whole house wet. So at least people should not care about the mess they make because it can be easily cleaned like the mess a puppy makes. All they need is food, water, a little freedom and love.
